Obtaining an ophthalmology ST1 post involves committing to live in the same part of the UK for +/- 7 years. The deaneries vary dramatically in geographic size and proximity to your family/friends/citylife/'the great outdoors'/hobbies/pastimes.

I have used information available on the internet or by contacting deaneries directly to try and identify all the hospitals that are used for ophthalmology rotations. I have identified the larger teaching hospitals in each deanery with a red marker. For those who are geographically challenged you can explore the google maps and check distances etc, by clicking each title.
